Blackmetric’s Adrian Reed to speak in Minneapolis, Slovenia, Belgium & Vienna

Adrian ReedMay is a busy month for us here at Blackmetric, and we’re really pleased that our Principal Consultant, Adrian Reed, will be speaking at a number of conferences and will be delivering a number of seminars.

On 3rd May 2018, Adrian will present the opening keynote at the IIBA Minneapolis/St. Paul Professional Development Day (MSPPDD).  Adrian’s keynote is entitled “And Then The Magic Happens…”, and it compares business analysis to the world of magic.  You’ll hear about how a chance meeting on a train got Adrian interested in magic, and you’ll hear what this might mean for us as BAs.  You’ll also see a couple of magic tricks.  We hope to see you there!

On 14th-15th May 2018, the Balkan BA Conference the takes place.  Adrian’s presentation is entitled “Systems Thinking: A Crucial Skill for Deeper Customer Understanding”.  He’ll talk about how important thinking systemically is, and how it’s important to truly engage with problematical situations (ensuring that we hear all relevant perspectives–including of course that of the customer!)

On 17th-18th May 2018, Adrian travels to Vienna for the BA Camp conference.  BA Camp has a varied programme, including conference presentations and barcamp ‘unconference’ sessions.  Adrian will present the opening keynote entitled “Systems Thinking: A Crucial BA Skill In An Uncertain World”.  He’ll talk about the fast-changing business landscape, and will provide a practical overview of some systemic tools that we can use to help analyse problems.

On 22nd-23rd May 2018, Adrian is in London and will be running a 2-day Pre-Project Problem Analysis seminar in London.  If you have ever wondered what sorts of techniques BAs can use early in the project lifecycle, this session is for you!

On 24th May, the BA & Beyond Conference the takes place in Antwerp, Belgium.  Adrian will present the afternoon keynote “And Then The Magic Happens….”.  This is Belgium’s first BA conference, and will be a very interesting and engaging event.

On 25th May, Adrian will be in Brussels, and will present a one-day workshop entitled Systems Thinking A Crucial BA Skill in an Uncertain World. This practical session focusses on tools and techniques that can be used to analyse messy problem situations.  If you’ve ever had to navigate your way through a tricky situation on a project or in business, this is a session for you!

We hope that we can meet you at one of these events. If you are attending, be sure to say hello to Adrian.
